#6082 I was checking out the Heizer Pocket AK and Pocket AR pistol. it is a single shot pistol that fires either a 5.56 Nato or a 7.62x39mm round. But the barrel is maybe 1 inch long before the porting is exposed when a bullet goes through. Thus the muzzle velocity is way way down. Something like 900 fps for the 7.62x39 and 1100 fps for the 5.56 round. The rifle bullets of course do not expand at those low velocities.

Now then the flame front and muzzle blast is pretty spectacular though. it looks like one can get a 3 foot flame blast out of the front of the thing. At night that one spectacular shot may just scare the criminals away even if you don't hit anyone. Sort of a WTF was that, I am getting out of here kind of thing.

Also the little Heizer is quite thin and relatively small and doesn't imprint on the clothing much when carried. So it is relatively good at being concealed.

But heck, the muzzle velocity of the rifle cartridges in it leave a lot to be desired. This puts the power of the gun in same range as a .32 ACP, .32 S&W long, .22 LR, .22 Magnum, and 7.62 Tokarev rounds. But some of these rounds would be more effective than the Heizer shooting the rifle bullets still. The .22 TCM round tends to blow it away in this case. Of course a .22 TCM round being fired out of a 1 inch barrel probably wouldn't be much more powerful though.

I think they should have made a .22 TCM version of the Heizer single shot handgun. it might offer better performance.
